Cingular and Panasonic Presents 3G-Ready Toughbook CF-29 Laptop

Panasonic and Cingular Wireless today unveiled the Toughbook CF-29 laptop. Incase you wonder what’s the relationship between a mobile communication provider like Cingular to a notebook, well, this super-durable rugged machine is equipped with built-in Cingular’s 3G BroadbandConnect service (up to 700kbs).
Users will be able to connect to any mobile broadband access in more than 60 cities, along with high-speed EDGE (up to 135kbps) network coverage in 13,000 additional cities and towns in U.S. outside those areas. Global EDGE and GPRS data service access in more than 100 countries are supported as well.
Currently being displayed at APCO 2006 exhibition at Orlando, the Toughbook CF-29 laptop features an Intel Centrino processor, optional GPS module, Bluetooth connectivity, and Novatel Wireless Expedite EU730 HSDPA PCI Express Mini Card Embedded Module. This HSDPA module is the one who responsible for the BroadbandConnect service and makes it possible to access the Internet or e- mail, download large files and attachments, and run corporate business applications at broadband speeds.
